the performance
session one:
in this session, participants will view “rules of play: college edition” which is a filmed theatrical play written and directed by kate franklin. this 60 minute dark comedy follows player 1, a freshmen girl, as she navigates a typical night on on campus from pre gaming to picking the crop top to having her first dfmo to unfortunately being sexually assaulted. this piece places accepted, and often harmful, patriarchal norms under a microscope to allow viewers to see this problem from
a fresh perspective

session two:
the prevention

using the play as a jumping off point, kate uses this session so unpack societal norms that enable sexual violence and breaks down consent definitions and application for each step of a hookup. kate’s raw, non accusatory manner and personal anecdotes allow participants to understand this culture from a females perspective.

session three
the prescription
In this session we will have an open discussion on how to co create a better hookup culture and make sustainable cultural and structural change. in the short term, hookupology creates connection, pleasure and satisfaction for all. on a macro level, hookupology develops a world in which stereotypical gender roles and objectification is obsolete and sex is equitable and violence is eradicated.
